TORNADO - North Sea Coast

The Tornado. We know what you’re thinking: North Sea, Denmark, wrecks. And yes, it’s a wreck, but it’s one that truly stands out. Lying at 27 metres, this old sailing vessel is surprisingly intact, considering the North Sea isn't exactly gentle. You can clearly make out the hull, deck structures, and even a bit of the rigging. It’s a proper piece of history down there, not just a pile of scattered metal. What we love about the Tornado is the way the sea has reclaimed it. Schools of cod hang around the bow, and we’ve seen some seriously chunky crabs scuttling over the timbers. The visibility can be a bit of a lottery, as it often is up here, but on a good day, with a bit of sunlight filtering through, the wreck takes on an almost ghostly glow. It’s an atmospheric dive, best suited for those comfortable with deeper dives and a current that can pick up without much warning. Our advice? Go at slack tide, bring a good torch, and take your time exploring. It’s not about ticking off a list of big fish here; it’s about connecting with a piece of the past.
