UNVERSAGT - North Sea Coast

The UNVERSAGT is a truly special North Sea wreck, not for its depth, but for its story and accessibility. Resting in just 5 metres, this old steamship is completely broken up, its hull plates and machinery scattered across the sand like spilled Lego. We love that you can spend an entire dive just pottering around, tracing the outline of what was once a proud vessel. Look closely for the boiler, a big, imposing cylinder that still holds its shape, drawing in a surprising amount of curious fish. You’ll find flatfish tucked against the metal, and we’ve often seen schools of juvenile cod darting between the ribs. The ambient light here is incredible, even on a cloudy day, filtering through the water and illuminating the rusty textures. We’d suggest going at high slack tide; the visibility really benefits from the calmer conditions. It’s an ideal site for anyone who enjoys history and doesn't mind a leisurely exploration of what the sea has claimed.
