VALENCIA - North Sea Coast

Valencia isn't for the casual diver. This is North Sea diving, so expect cool water and often low visibility, especially if there's been a recent storm. But if you’re a wreck lover, the Valencia is a proper reward. She’s a steamship, sunk by a mine in 1942, and she sits broken but still recognisable at 20 meters. We love the eerie quiet down here, the way the light filters through the green water onto rusted metal. You can often make out the bow and stern sections, separated but with enough structure to explore. Crabs scuttle over the plating, and you’ll spot plump cod lurking in the shadows, along with the occasional pollock. It’s a somber site, a tangible piece of history, and we think that makes the diving here deeply rewarding for those who appreciate the story behind the dive. This is definitely a drysuit dive, and we'd always recommend bringing a good torch to really pick out the details.
