VERTRAUEN - North Sea Coast

Vertrauen isn't your postcard-perfect tropical dive, but for wreck enthusiasts, it’s a proper slice of history. Sunk in '76, this old fishing vessel rests at a very accessible 20 metres, making it a great dive for those comfortable with a bit of chill. We love the way the North Sea has claimed it; the hull is a tapestry of anemones and sponges, providing shelter for crabs tucked into every crevice. Visibility can be hit or miss, typical for these waters, but when it's good, you can make out the lines of the deckhouse, imagining the last moments of this working boat. Our favourite approach is to drop onto the stern and work our way forward, really taking in the detail before the light starts to fade. It’s a dive that rewards slow exploration and a keen eye, perfect for anyone looking to connect with a genuine piece of maritime past.
