Aquarius Dive Center SL - Canary Islands
The team at Aquarius Dive Center SL are proper enthusiasts, the kind who live and breathe diving. We love that they were the first PADI TecRec centre on Tenerife, which tells you they’re serious about pushing boundaries and training. If you’re looking to get your PADI 5 Star IDC here, you’re in good hands; they’ve got a reputation for turning out really competent instructors. Based in El Fraile, they’re perfectly positioned to explore the island’s southern dive sites. We’ve found their instructors have an excellent knack for finding the little things, pointing out a shy cuttlefish hiding in the sand or a tiny nudibranch crawling along a sponge, even when you're focused on a big ray gliding past. The lava formations here are incredible, creating swim-throughs and arches that filter the sunlight in these ethereal shafts. When the Atlantic currents pick up, they know the sheltered spots that still deliver great visibility, often with schools of barracuda circling overhead. We always suggest asking about the best time of day for the local seahorse colony; sometimes, they’re surprisingly active in the early morning. They’re a solid choice for anyone wanting serious PADI training or just some relaxed, well-guided dives around Tenerife.
