Hommer Reef - Bay of Islands

Just a short boat ride from Lombok Eco Dive Resort, Macro Heaven lives up to its name. We found a gentle sandy slope, studded with soft corals, between Gili Lontar and Elak-Elak Beach. It’s a great spot for slowing down and really looking closely; nudibranchs are everywhere, and we’ve regularly spotted frogfish and various ghost pipefish tucked into the corals. If you’re patient, you might even find a common seahorse. Visibility hovers around 10 meters, which is perfectly fine for hunting out those smaller creatures at a maximum depth of 19 meters. This site is definitely one for photographers and divers who enjoy a detailed, unhurried exploration.
