KIOTO - Tobago
Diving the Kioto is a different kind of Caribbean wreck dive. This steamship, sunk by a German U-boat in 1942, sits in just 11 meters of water, making it surprisingly accessible. While much of the ship is broken up, you can still trace its outline and discern the engine room, providing a stark reminder of its wartime fate. Schools of creole wrasse swirl through the remaining structure, and we’ve spotted moray eels peeking out from beneath plates of rusted steel. It’s a somber site with a rich history, more about reflection and exploration than vibrant coral.
