LUKAS - M - Tobago
The MV *Lukas-M* sits upright in a sandy patch, and we love how accessible she is, even for newer wreck divers. Sunk back in '77, this 37-meter motor vessel has had plenty of time to become a proper artificial reef. The main draw here is the sheer density of glassfish that shimmer in the cargo holds, often forming silver tornadoes when a tarpon or barracuda glides past. Exploring the bridge is straightforward, you can still make out some of the controls, now encrusted with sponges and hard corals. Keep an eye out for the resident moray eels peeking from the nooks and crannies. We’ve also spotted nurse sharks sleeping underneath the bow plates on a few occasions. Visibility often hovers around 15-20 meters, making the entire wreck easy to take in. It’s a pretty chill dive, generally with mild currents, which suits divers looking for an easy-going wreck exploration with plenty of fish action. Our favourite time to dive it is late morning, just as the sun gets high enough to really illuminate those glassfish.
