OSPREY - Tobago

Osprey isn’t about huge pelagics or endless coral gardens. This site is pure, unadulterated wreck diving, and we love it for that. We're talking about a lighter vessel, sunk way back in 1930, sitting upright and mostly intact on a sandy bottom at 27 metres. Dropping down, you really get a sense of history; the bow is still quite defined, and you can swim through a few open cargo holds. Look for schooling jacks swirling around the mast, and we’ve often spotted eagle rays gliding past in the blue. It’s a relatively small wreck, perfect for a relaxed dive where you can take your time exploring the structure rather than rushing through. The visibility here can be fantastic, letting sunlight stream into the holds and highlight the gorgonians and sponges that have colonised the metalwork. Our advice? Go in the late morning when the sun is high for the best light penetration. This site is a solid pick for wreck enthusiasts and those who appreciate a dive with a story, offering a calm, contemplative experience without strong currents.
