ROSARENE - Tobago

The Rosarene, a schooner that went down in 1978 carrying a cargo of spirits, now rests upright on the seabed at 20 metres. We often find ourselves drifting slowly over her decks, imagining the rough seas that brought her here. She's a smaller wreck, but the intact structure means you can peek into the hold, where the cargo once sat, now home to swarms of glassy sweepers and moray eels tucked into crevices. Out on the main deck, sergeant majors dart around, while the resident parrotfish graze on the coral growth that's begun to coat the hull. It's a relaxed dive, perfect for those who enjoy exploring a piece of history without deep penetration.
