SAYONARA - Tobago

The Sayonara, a trawler sunk back in '79, sits upright in just seven metres of water. It’s an easy, shallow dive, great for knocking out a long bottom time or getting comfortable with wreck penetration, though it’s small. We often find schoolmasters and grunts sheltering in the holds, and the deck beams are usually covered in tiny Christmas tree worms. The wreck itself is pretty much a skeleton now, but the way the light filters through the superstructure gives it a quiet, almost ghostly feel. Visibility here can sometimes be a bit green after heavy rain, but on a good day, it’s a perfectly pleasant dive, especially for those new to wreck diving or just wanting something relaxed.
