TRINGO - Tobago

We love a good wreck with a story, and the **Tringo** certainly has one. This old fishing vessel, abandoned by its crew and sunk on its passage to Tobago back in '77, now lies upright in a respectable 33 metres. You drop down onto its deck and the first thing that hits you is the sheer scale, especially for a single-deck fishing boat. The wheelhouse is still largely intact, making for some classic swim-throughs if you're comfortable with overhead environments. Our favourite part is the way the currents have sculpted the soft corals and sponges across the hull; they pulse with the surge, creating this living skin over the old metal. Look closely, and you'll spot resident moray eels peeking from every crevice, while schools of snapper and barracuda often hang motionless above the stern. It's a proper deep wreck dive, so we'd suggest bringing your nitrox and a good dive light to really appreciate the details inside. This site is brilliant for wreck enthusiasts who appreciate history and don't mind a bit of depth.
