Undersea Tobago - Tobago

Undersea Tobago is a quirky little spot we’ve always enjoyed, perfect when you’re looking for something a bit different than the usual drift dive. It’s a shallow reef, maybe 10-12 metres, often with calm conditions, which makes it ideal for a longer bottom time and macro hunting. We usually find it’s best as a second dive of the day, when the light is high and the colours really pop. What makes it special are the species you find in the nooks and crannies. You’re not getting big pelagics here, but we’ve spent ages watching tiny hamlets darting between the coral heads, or spotted a shy Delalande Blenny peeking out from its hidey-hole. Keep an eye out for Dwarf Batfish, they’re masters of camouflage and blend right into the sandy patches. Our favourite memory is often just chilling, watching the schools of Barred Grunt shimmer, sometimes joined by a lone Black Moray snaking through the coral. It’s a really relaxed dive, suited to photographers or anyone who enjoys slowing down and truly observing the smaller details of the reef.
