MSTS Dive Club - Vaavu Atoll
The team at MSTS Dive Club in Vaavu Atoll really know their stuff. We’ve found they’re particularly good at navigating the atoll’s channels, which is exactly what you want when you're looking for those big pelagics. If you're into drift diving and want to see sharks, eagle rays, and maybe even a hammerhead or two, this is your spot. They cater to a broad range of PADI certifications, but we think they truly shine when taking experienced divers out to the more challenging channel dives. We love Vaavu for its reliable current and shark action, and MSTS consistently delivers on that front. Think Kandhooma Thila, but with fewer people and sometimes even more sharks. On a good day, the fusiliers form a living river, and the grey reef sharks patrol the edges, just cruising. Our favourite tip for diving with MSTS is to chat with them about the tides; hitting the channels at the right time makes all the difference. Sometimes the current is so strong it feels like flying, a real rush. The water is usually a comfortable 28 degrees Celsius, so a 3mm shorty is often enough, leaving you plenty of mobility to swim with those strong drifts.
