The team at El Rei del Mar are the kind of people you want to dive with. They’ve been here since 1990, and it shows in how smoothly everything runs. We love that they focus on the Medes Islands, a place packed with those huge groupers that just stare you down. Their boats are spacious, which really makes a difference when you’re gearing up, no banging elbows. We appreciate how quickly they get you out to the sites; less time travelling means more time underwater, especially at places like La Vaca, our favourite for the swim-throughs and the sheer density of barracuda. You’ll often find us hanging out on their terrace after a dive, swapping stories about the morays and octopus we’ve spotted. If you’re looking for a centre that prioritises comfort and a genuinely friendly vibe, this is it. They’re excellent for beginners, with their Eco Try Dives offering a thoughtful introduction, but even experienced divers will value their local knowledge and calm approach to the busier sites.
