CLIFFMORE - Scottish East Coast & Borders

Cliffmore isn’t about depth, it’s about character. Sunk in 1924, this old steamer sits in a mere five metres of water, making it a fantastic shore dive for anyone comfortable with a bit of a walk to the entry point. We love it for its accessibility and the way the light plays through the kelp forest that now calls the wreck home. You’ll find the hull and superstructure still quite distinct, draped in various seaweeds and often buzzing with blennies peeking out from every nook and cranny. Keep an eye out for velvet swimming crabs scuttling over the metalwork and the occasional shy dogfish resting in the sand nearby. Our favourite time to dive Cliffmore is on a calm, sunny day, when the visibility opens up and you can really appreciate the wreck's skeletal remains. It’s a site that rewards slow exploration and a keen eye for the smaller stuff.
