CYPRIAN COAST - Scottish East Coast & Borders

Forget deep blue water and palm trees; the Cyprian Coast is a different kind of dive. This isn't about colourful corals, it’s about history, about a moment frozen in time. The old steamship sits upright on the seabed, shallow enough that you can practically see her from the surface on a good day. We love that you get a real sense of her scale, the way her bow points resolutely towards the shore, almost as if she’s still trying to make port. What you'll find here is a wreck that feels accessible, even intimate. Her holds are open, inviting you to peek inside, and the structure of her engine room is still largely intact. Schools of juvenile coalfish often swarm around the superstructure, shimmering like liquid silver, and we’ve spotted some impressively large edible crabs tucked into crevices. The visibility can be hit or miss, typical for the East Coast, so pick a calm day with a rising tide for your best chance to really soak it all in. This is a dive for those who appreciate the story behind the metal, the quiet drama of a ship’s final resting place, rather than a checklist of rare creatures.
