ELFI - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The Elfi is a moody dive, a testament to wartime history lying at 25m. She was a steamship torpedoed by a German U-boat in 1918, and you feel that weight when you descend onto her 70-meter length. We’ve found her relatively intact, with the bow and stern sections still distinct, though time and the North Sea have done their work. You'll likely see decent numbers of wrasse and pollock schooling around the structure, and if you bring a torch, the darker recesses often shelter squat lobsters and the occasional conger eel. It’s a dive for those who appreciate history and the atmosphere of a cold water wreck.
