ELZEINA - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The Elzeina is one of our favourite deep wrecks on the Scottish East Coast, sitting upright and largely intact at 46 metres. We love dropping down to her, the dark water often giving way to surprising clarity as you approach the deck. You’ll find the bridge structure still largely in place, though the wooden decking has long since vanished, leaving behind a skeletal framework for exploration. Keep an eye out for ling and conger eels lurking in the deeper holds, and the deck itself is often coated in a shimmering layer of plumose anemones, their white tentacles waving gently in the mild currents. We’d suggest this dive for experienced divers comfortable with deeper profiles and the generally chilly Scottish conditions. It's a proper wreck dive, with plenty to see without needing to penetrate too far. The sheer scale of it, appearing from the gloom, is always impressive.
