FRANCE BREIZE SN 108 - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The *France Breize SN 108* is one of our favourite North Sea wrecks for its drama. Sitting upright at 53 metres, she’s a stark reminder of the sea’s power. That explosion in the engine room back in '76 must have been incredible, given how quickly she went down. We love how intact the bow section remains, towering above the seabed, with the stern much more broken. You can almost feel the chaos of those final moments. The visibility here can swing wildly, so pick your day. We’ve had dives where you could practically read the deck plating and others where it felt like diving in pea soup. When it’s good, though, the ambient light at 50 metres gives the wreck an almost ethereal glow. Look for the massive conger eels that have made their homes in the broken superstructure aft – some of them are truly ancient. The hull is covered in plumose anemones, creating a soft, colourful carpet against the rusty steel. This is a dive for experienced wreck enthusiasts who appreciate a bit of history and don't mind the chill.
