GLEN STAR - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The Glen Star isn't a massive wreck, at just over 8 metres, but what she lacks in size, she makes up for in character. Lying on her starboard side in 21m of water, this fishing vessel went down in 1993. We love a wreck that still feels like a boat, and you can really get a sense of her working life here, even with the years underwater. Her wheelhouse is mostly intact, a real treat to poke your head into. Expect to see plenty of wrasse darting in and out of the wreckage, and we’ve often spotted conger eels tucked away in her deeper recesses. The hold offers a good swim-through for experienced divers, but be mindful of silt. Visibility can be hit or miss, typical of the East Coast, so we always check the tides – slack water is your friend here. This is a brilliant dive for those who appreciate smaller, more intimate wrecks, offering a fantastic glimpse into a working vessel’s final resting place.
