JENIKAY - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The Jenikay, a fishing vessel that met its end off the Scottish East Coast, is a surprisingly engaging dive for its shallow depth. We love how accessible it is, sitting upright on a sandy bottom at just 11 metres. This isn't a wreck you’re going to penetrate, but the superstructure is still largely intact, providing plenty of nooks and crannies to poke around in. You'll find the wheelhouse offers the best shelter for critters, often home to decent-sized edible crabs tucked into corners and smaller velvet swimmers scuttling about. We'd suggest aiming for a slack tide; while the current isn't usually fierce, it can kick up the sand and reduce visibility quickly. It's a great spot for newer wreck divers or those looking for a relaxed second dive, offering a proper shipwreck feel without the usual depth or technical demands.
