JONKOPING II (PROBABLY) - Scottish East Coast & Borders

Let's be clear upfront: pinning down the exact identity of this wreck is part of the adventure. We’re pretty sure it’s the *Jonkoping II*, and what a site it is. Dropping onto the deck at 56 metres, the first thing you notice is the scale. She’s a big ship, well-preserved despite the torpedo hit in 1918. Our favourite parts are always the boilers and that massive triple-expansion engine. You can really get a sense of the power she once held. The cool, dark water around the *Jonkoping II* often feels like another world. The currents here can be tricky, so pick your day carefully; slack water is your friend. We've seen some impressive conger eels lurking in the deeper parts of the holds, and the anemones coating the metalwork are a deep purple that glows under your torch. It’s a site for experienced wreck divers, certainly, but for those with the training, it’s a rewarding dive into history, cold, metal, and full of life.
