NOBELESE - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The Nobelesse is a cracking little wreck, a 13.7m yacht that ran aground trying to make harbour back in 2003. We love a wreck with a story, and you can almost feel the struggle against that heavy swell as you descend. What started as a single vessel is now quite broken up, scattered across the seabed, but that just means more nooks and crannies for exploration. You'll spend your dive poking around twisted metal and splintered wood, imagining the yacht in its prime. It’s not a massive structure, but the way the ocean has worked on it over two decades is fascinating. We've seen some surprisingly colourful anemones here, clinging to the hull plates, and shoals of inquisitive pollack darting through the superstructure. Our favourite part is finding the scattered remnants of the boat's interior, little clues to its former life. This site is ideal for divers who enjoy piecing together a wreck's history rather than just swimming over a big, intact hull. It's a nice, relaxed dive, very much a treasure hunt.
