PLUTO - Scottish East Coast & Borders

Dropping onto the PLUTO at 59 metres, you’re looking at a substantial steamship, a piece of wartime history resting on the seabed since 1940. She’s an impressive 79 metres long, and while the general dive conditions in this part of Scotland can be challenging, the wreck itself offers plenty to explore. We’ve found the stern section often holds the most interest, with some penetration possible for experienced wreck divers. Expect to see plenty of local fish life, like wrasse and sometimes conger eels, making their homes in the old structure, with anemones and soft corals starting to colonise the metal. This one’s definitely for the more seasoned technical divers, given the depth and often cool, low-visibility conditions.
