PRIMROSE - Scottish East Coast & Borders

Diving the *Primrose* is a proper piece of Scottish wreck diving, often overlooked for some of the flashier sites further north. We love its compact, almost intimate feel, sitting upright and surprisingly intact at 27 metres off the Isle of May. You’re not getting vast penetration here, but the visible structure – the bow, the stern, and even parts of the mast – offers plenty to explore, even if it’s just peering into the small holds. What really makes *Primrose* special for us is the way the cold water life has absolutely plastered itself to the metal. Think armies of dead man’s fingers, plumose anemones swaying in any surge, and colourful jewel anemones in every crevice. We often find wolfish lurking in the darker corners, and crabs scuttling across the deck plates. The visibility here can be decent, especially on a settled day, but even when it’s a bit murkier, the wreck's outline is still clear enough to guide you. It’s a great dive for those who appreciate history and the rugged beauty of UK marine life, rather than outright size.
