RELIANCE - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The Reliance is a little beauty, a trawler that went down in '90, now sitting upright on a sandy seabed at 48 metres. We love how intact she is, especially for her size, roughly 10 metres long. You can still make out the wheelhouse, and the mast points towards the surface, giving the whole thing a bit of a ghostly feel. Inside, the nooks and crannies are packed with lobsters and crabs, and we’ve seen some seriously chunky ling lurking in the shadows – a real treat at this depth. This isn't a long dive, not with those depths, but it's a quality one. We’d suggest a trimix setup to really get some decent bottom time. The visibility here can be surprisingly good on the right day, but it’s Scotland, so be prepared for a bit of a murk. Best dived on slack water, naturally, as currents can pick up. It’s a site for experienced wreck divers who appreciate a well-preserved wreck rather than just a pile of rubble.
