ROSS KHARTOUM - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The Ross Khartoum, a former safety and rescue vessel, sits broken up on Balmedie Beach, north of Aberdeen. This isn't a typical dive, as the ship ran aground and was subsequently salvaged, leaving behind a scattered wreck that's now more of a shore explore. What's left lies exposed at low tide, providing a unique chance to walk among the remnants of its hull and superstructure. You'll find crabs scuttling through the rusty frames and plenty of sea birds poking around the exposed sections, making it an interesting stop for wreck enthusiasts curious about maritime history and coastal exploration, rather than a dive. It's a different kind of interaction with a wreck, definitely for those who appreciate seeing the bones of a ship laid bare by the tides.
