SAMSO - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The Samso is a proper piece of history, resting upright on the seabed at 45 metres. She’s a motor vessel, sunk by a torpedo in 1918, and it shows in the way the wreck is broken up – a real testament to that impact. We found her bow section quite intact, with the stern more spread out, and the whole site is now a haven for local critters. Expect to see plenty of squat lobsters tucked into crevices and ling often peering out from under the collapsed decking. It’s a dive for those comfortable with deeper wrecks and keen to explore a substantial piece of maritime heritage.
