SCOTIA - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The Scotia, a dredger lost in a gale back in 1893, rests at 42 metres off Dunbar. It’s a proper historical dive, a sturdy old iron vessel that’s now well-integrated with the seabed. You'll find it fairly broken up, but the hull lines are still clear, and the internal machinery offers some interesting swim-throughs if you're comfortable in overhead environments. We’ve seen plenty of conger eels making homes in the larger crevices, and dead man's fingers coral add a splash of colour to the dark metal. It’s a dive for those who appreciate maritime history and aren't afraid of a bit of depth.
