SHARON VALE - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The Sharon Vale, a fishing vessel that went down in 1979, sits upright in 60 metres of water. It's a proper technical dive, six miles northwest of St Abbs Head, and we often find it’s not for the faint of heart given the depth and exposed location. The wreck itself is a relatively small trawler, 17 metres long, but she’s intact. You can still make out the burst forward hatch that led to her sinking, which is a stark reminder of the sea’s power. Expect to see plenty of local fish sheltering in the hull, with a good chance of encounters with ling or even a curious conger eel peering out from the deeper sections. It’s a dive for those who appreciate history and the challenge of a deeper wreck.
