SILVERBURN - Scottish East Coast & Borders

Diving the Silverburn is a genuine plunge into history off the Scottish East Coast. This steamship met its end in 1917, courtesy of a German submarine, and now rests at 58 metres. It’s a deep dive, definitely one for experienced technical divers comfortable with those depths and the often-chilly North Sea conditions. We’ve found the wreck itself is reasonably intact, offering some interesting features to explore, like its boilers and parts of the superstructure. Visibility can be hit or miss, but when it's good, you’ll share the space with plenty of local crustaceans and the occasional inquisitive wrasse that have made the Silverburn their home.
