STAITHES (POSSIBLY) - Scottish East Coast & Borders

We've spent some time on the Scottish East Coast, and while the Staithes isn't going to rival anything in the Red Sea, it offers a solid dive for those exploring the local waters. This iron steamship, sunk by a submarine in 1918, lies in just 14 metres, making it quite accessible. The wreck itself, at 44.2m long, is a good size to spend a full dive exploring, with ribs and plating scattered across the seabed. Expect to find plenty of crabs tucked into crevices and small schooling fish flitting through the structure. It's a proper piece of history, colonised by the sea, and a good option for divers looking for a relaxed wreck dive with a story behind it.
