VALHALLAH - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The Valhallah, sitting upright at 47 metres, is a proper technical dive, and we love it for its sheer completeness. This isn't some scattered debris field; it's a small but perfectly preserved fishing vessel, almost like it just took a dive itself. We usually hit this one on a calm day, and the lack of strong current really lets you absorb the scene. The wheelhouse is still intact, and you can peer through the windows, imagining the frantic moments before she went down. For a wreck of its size, there’s a surprising amount to take in. Dead man's fingers and anemones cling to every surface, adding splashes of orange and white against the dark metal. We’ve spotted conger eels tucked into crevices, their heads poking out with a wary glance. The Valhallah is our pick for divers who appreciate a well-preserved wreck rather than vastness. It’s a deep, solitary experience, best suited for those comfortable with technical protocols and who get a kick out of a truly intact piece of history on the seabed.
