Wreck of Alexander - Scottish East Coast & Borders

Diving the Alexander is a proper East Coast adventure, a deep dive into history and, frankly, a bit of a shiver. This isn't your average tropical splash. Dropping down, the cold bite of the North Sea is immediate, and the visibility can be a moody thing, but that just adds to the atmosphere when the bow of this old sailing ship starts to resolve from the gloom. She’s broken up, scattered across the seabed, but in a way that creates some fantastic swim-throughs and gullies. We love picking through the timbers, imagining the gale that sank her, and watching how the crabs scuttle away into the dark corners. Our favourite part has to be the stern section; it’s more intact, and you often find conger eels peering out from beneath the plates. This dive is definitely for those who appreciate the raw, wild side of wreck diving, where the silence is only broken by your own bubbles and the creaking of the metal in the current. Come prepared for the cold, and you’ll find a genuinely rewarding experience.
