Wreck of Alexander And Elizabeth - Scottish East Coast & Borders

Diving the *Alexander and Elizabeth* off Scotland’s east coast feels like stepping into a cold, dark history book. This isn’t a colourful, tropical reef, but we love it for its sheer character. Dropping down, the first thing you notice is the gloom, even on a sunny day. We’d suggest bringing a good torch – you’ll need it to properly explore the intact bow section, which is our favourite part. It’s surprisingly solid, still holding its shape against the currents. You’ll spend most of your time here poking around the wreckage, seeing how the metal has buckled and twisted over the decades. Keep an eye out for the resident wrasse and pollock; they dart in and out of the crevices, quite at home in this artificial reef. The current can be frisky here, so it’s definitely one for experienced divers who are comfortable in low visibility and colder water. It’s a proper Scottish wreck dive, honest and exhilarating.
