Wreck of Busy Bee - Scottish East Coast & Borders

Okay, the Busy Bee. This isn't your Caribbean wall dive, and thank goodness for that. We love a bit of British grit, and this wreck delivers. Lying off the Scottish East Coast, the Busy Bee is a proper adventure, a real piece of history you can touch. When we dive her, we're not just seeing metal; we're feeling the cold, dark embrace of the North Sea that claimed her, the same water now preserving her. The wreck itself is pretty broken up, scattered across the seabed, but that’s part of the charm. It means there’s always something new to spot amongst the debris – twisted plates, perhaps a remnant of a boiler, or a section of hull. It’s like a giant jigsaw puzzle down there. And the life that’s made it home? Wonderful. Enormous edible crabs scuttling over the plates, their claws poised. Ling often lurk in the deeper shadows, and you’ll find plenty of small shoals of fish darting amongst the rusted ironwork. Our favourite time to dive is often on a slack tide in late summer; the visibility can be surprisingly decent then, giving you a better chance to appreciate the scale and the history. This is for divers who appreciate a challenge, a story, and the hardy marine life of our northern waters.
