Wreck of Childe Harold - Scottish East Coast & Borders

Diving the *Childe Harold* is a proper adventure, the kind that reminds you why you got into wreck diving. It’s a huge cargo steamer, sitting upright, and it feels like stepping back in time. We love following the line down through the cold green water, the wreck slowly materialising, its sheer scale impressive. You can explore the bow and stern, the bridge area, and for those who know what they’re doing, the engine room is a real treat. We’ve seen conger eels poking out of pipework and some absolutely massive pollack hanging around the deeper sections. Visibility can be a challenge – this is Scotland, after all – but when it’s good, it’s remarkably clear, and the light filtering down through the superstructure is something else. Our favourite part has to be finning along the deck, imagining the life on board. It’s a dive for experienced wreck enthusiasts, no doubt about it. Bring a powerful torch and your best buoyancy control; it’s a big wreck with plenty to snag on.
