Wreck of Confiance - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The Confiance isn't one for the faint of heart, but for those who brave the chilly Scottish waters, it’s a proper expedition. We love how the wreck just emerges from the gloom, a ghostly outline that gradually reveals itself as you descend. You’ll find her sitting mostly upright, with huge plates of steel making up the bow and stern, hinting at the sheer size of the vessel before she met her end. We'd suggest a good torch, as it’s dark down here, even on a sunny day. What truly makes this wreck special, for us, is the way the cold-water corals and anenomes have completely encrusted everything. Crabs scuttle from under steel beams and sometimes you'll spot a conger eel peeking from a dark hole. It’s an advanced dive, often with strong currents and unpredictable visibility, but for experienced wreck divers seeking a genuine challenge and a glimpse into maritime history, the Confiance delivers. Just remember your drysuit, and maybe a hot flask for afterwards.
