Wreck of Farmer - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The Wreck of Farmer is one of those sites that just feels… Scottish. You’re descending into the chill, emerald embrace of the North Sea, often with a bit of a current to keep things interesting. What we love about Farmer is its character – it's not some perfectly preserved museum piece, but a working vessel that met its end, now slowly dissolving back into the seabed. The wreck itself is quite broken up, but you can still make out the ribs of the hull and some machinery, draped in dead man's fingers and anemones. Look closely, and you’ll spot feathery squat lobsters tucked into every crevice, wolf fish peeking from beneath plates of steel, and the occasional ling slinking through the shadows. It’s a dive that rewards patience and a good torch, perfect for those who appreciate the history and the rugged beauty of a truly naturalised wreck rather than a pristine showcase. We’d suggest timing your dive for slack water to really explore without battling the flow.
