Wreck of Five Brothers - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The *Five Brothers* isn't your average Scottish wreck. We've dived plenty of them up and down this coast, and many are just scattered debris, but this one has real character. You drop onto a surprisingly intact hull, often with a decent amount of ambient light filtering through the North Sea gloom, giving the whole place a rather ethereal feel. What we love about the *Five Brothers* is the penetration. You can swim through sections of the hold, imagining the cargo, and even peek into what feels like the engine room. It’s not a tight squeeze either, generally wide enough to feel comfortable, even for those a bit nervous about overhead environments. Keep an eye out for the resident conger eels, they’re often tucked away in crevices, and the sheer quantity of wrasse flitting around the metalwork is always a joy to see. The visibility can be hit-or-miss, as with any site around here, but when it’s good, the wreck just comes alive. We’d suggest diving this one on a slack tide for the best experience, giving you more time to explore without fighting a current. It’s a rewarding dive for those who appreciate history and don't mind a bit of a chill.
