Wreck of Hermes - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The Hermes isn't just another lump of metal on the seabed, it's a properly atmospheric dive. We love the way she sits upright, still mostly intact, giving you a real sense of her scale as you descend through the green Scottish water. Expect to see cod and ling patrolling the deeper sections, disappearing into shadowy gaps in the superstructure. Our favourite part is navigating the engine room, feeling the cool current pull you gently as you explore the huge pistons. This dive is perfect for experienced wreck enthusiasts who appreciate history and don't mind a bit of chill. The Hermes offers a captivating glimpse into maritime history, with her structure providing plenty of nooks and crannies for exploration. You'll find yourself drawn to the intact bow and stern, imagining the ship in her prime. Despite the low visibility sometimes, the sheer size of the wreck means you always have a landmark. We always keep an eye out for conger eels peering from dark holes, or the occasional inquisitive seal darting past. It's a dive that rewards careful exploration, revealing new details with each visit.
