Wreck of Hmfpv Switha - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The HMFPV *Switha* isn't a particularly huge wreck, but she’s got character, especially considering the conditions she often sits in. Down off the Scottish East Coast, we’re usually contending with a bit of a chill and sometimes a decent surge. But that just adds to the atmosphere when you drop onto her. You’ll find her mostly intact, lying on her port side, and the wheelhouse is a favourite spot for us to peer into. We love seeing how the cold-water corals and anemones have colonised the metal, turning the utilitarian structure into something quite beautiful. Look closely, and you’ll often spot squat lobsters tucked into every crevice, and plumose anemones wave like ghostly banners from the higher points. This is a dive for those who appreciate history and don't mind a bit of a challenge, preferring atmospheric exploration over sun-drenched reefs. Dive it on a slack tide for the best chance to really soak it all in.
