Wreck of Liberta - Scottish East Coast & Borders

Diving the Liberta is a proper journey back in time, a really special wreck off the Scottish coast. She sits upright, surprisingly intact, with her bows rising proudly from the seabed. We love picking through the cargo holds, sometimes spotting an old bottle or a forgotten piece of equipment still wedged in the silt. It’s a proper metal playground, and we’ve found the stern section often hosts some chunky lobsters and wrasse darting between the plates. The visibility here can play tricks, one day it's a milky green, the next you're seeing almost the entire length of her. Our favourite moments are when the sun breaks through, illuminating the skeletal structure, making the whole wreck glow with an eerie light. It’s a dive for those who appreciate history and don't mind a bit of a chill; the cold water keeps the marine life robust, if not always brightly coloured. Definitely bring a good torch, as there are some excellent nooks and crannies to peer into, especially around the engine room.
