Wreck of Lossie - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The Lossie isn't about tropical colours or big pelagics. It’s about a raw, almost primal connection to history and the sea. This isn’t a warm water drift, it's a dive that demands respect and rewards you with a genuinely atmospheric experience. We love the dramatic feel of descending onto the wreck, often in fairly low visibility, where the outline of the stern begins to emerge from the gloom. What you'll find here is a classic Scottish wreck dive: strong, intact sections colonised by an incredible density of plumose anemones, their white tentacles swaying in the subtle surge. Look into the shadows and you’ll likely spot a few ling lurking, often bigger than you expect, and we've regularly seen conger eels curled up in the deeper internal spaces. Our favourite moments are exploring the engine room, pushing through the kelp, and just letting the history wash over us. This is a dive for the experienced cold-water enthusiast, someone who appreciates the challenge and the unique beauty of northern wrecks. Plan your dive for slack water; currents can be fierce. It makes all the difference to really take your time and soak it in.
