Wreck of Martello - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The Martello, oh, she’s a proper dive for a proper wreck enthusiast, and one of our favourites up on the East Coast. It’s not just a pile of plates; she’s still very much a ship, resting on her port side in a way that feels almost intentional. We’ve spent hours poking around her, the bow and stern still largely intact, which means plenty of nooks and crannies to explore. On a good day, when the light pushes through the green water, you’ll catch glimpses of the life that's made her home: fat wrasse darting between plates, cheeky conger eels peeking from the darker recesses, and sometimes, if you’re lucky, a curious seal might pay a visit. We’d suggest hitting this one on a slack tide, otherwise the current can make for a rather bracing swim. It's a solid dive for those who appreciate the history and character of a shipwreck, rather than just the critters.
