Wreck of Press Home - Scottish East Coast & Borders

Diving the Press Home feels like stepping into a time capsule, a stark reminder of the wild North Sea. We love this wreck for its character, a trawler caught mid-capsize, making for some truly unique swim-throughs if you know where to look. Expect to see substantial portions of the superstructure, with davits still reaching out and the bridge surprisingly intact, considering the regular battering this coast gets. This isn't a site for beginners; strong currents are a regular feature here, so pick your day carefully and dive it at slack water, ideally on a neap tide. What really sells the Press Home, though, is the resident wildlife. Ling, cod, and conger eels lurk in every crevice, often bigger than you’d expect. The wheelhouse, in particular, often has a monstrous conger peeking out. Jewel anemones coat much of the sheltered surfaces, adding splashes of colour to the otherwise muted tones of the wreck. It’s a proper expedition, a genuine taste of Scottish wreck diving, raw and exhilarating. Our favourite part has to be finning through the gantry, watching the light filter down through the kelp, feeling the weight of its history.
