Wreck of Quixotic - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The Quixotic isn't just another wreck; it's a testament to the sea's reclaiming power, a proper metal skeleton that feels like a discovery every time. What we love about this site is the sheer solidity of it, lying relatively intact and inviting exploration. You'll find yourself ducking into cargo holds, imagining the ship's final moments, with light filtering through the gaps where the deck has collapsed. It’s perfect for divers who appreciate history and don't mind a bit of a chill for a genuinely rewarding dive. We’ve seen some surprisingly colourful nudibranchs clinging to the hull plates, and always a few inquisitive wrasse poking around the debris. Our favourite time to dive Quixotic is often just after a prolonged period of calm weather; the visibility then can be surprisingly good for the North Sea, making the penetration into the deeper sections feel much more comfortable. Keep an eye on the current forecast though, as it can pick up quickly here and make the dive a lot more challenging, especially on the surface.
