Wreck of Renovatio - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The *Renovatio* isn't a deep dive, but it's a wonderfully atmospheric one, particularly if you catch it on a day with decent visibility – which, let's be honest, is always a bit of a gamble on the Scottish East Coast. We love it because it’s so accessible, sitting in shallower water, meaning you can really take your time poking around. It’s not just a pile of rubble; there's a real sense of a ship here, with plates and ribs still forming recognisable sections. We’ve had some cracking dives here, finding conger eels peering out from gaps and huge edible crabs scuttling over the hull. Look for the anemones, often clustered so thick they create a kind of living carpet. It’s perfect for divers who appreciate history and don't mind a bit of a chill; a drysuit is definitely our recommendation. If you go, try to time your dive for slack water to really enjoy the details without fighting a current.
