Wreck of SMS München - Scottish East Coast & Borders

The SMS München is a proper challenge, a dive that separates the curious from the truly dedicated. We're talking about a WWI light cruiser, scuttled deep off the Scottish coast, and she’s not giving up her secrets easily. Dropping down, the visibility often starts a bit murky, but then you hit her superstructure, emerging from the gloom, coated in anemones and dead man’s fingers. Penetrating the München is our favourite part. Her internal spaces, though silted, are still largely intact. We’ve found ourselves finning through huge internal compartments, feeling the compression from the depth, and imagining the crew. Keep an eye out for the resident ling and conger eels that have made these dark corridors their home. This is a dive for experienced wreck enthusiasts, divers comfortable with deeper profiles and the often-chilly, low-vis conditions that are just part of the North Sea charm. Go when the tides are slack, otherwise, you'll be fighting a proper washing machine.
